It’s that straight forward and to the point. Either hire a professional cleaning service or pull out the ole broom and dust pan and have a cleaning party! Put in a little elbow grease and clean your stained grout, vacuum up dead bugs from light fixtures, disinfect toilets and counter tops, and clean all the windows. If you can’t eat off of it or out of it then it isn’t clean!

The bottom line is that buyers are purchasing square footage. If they can’t see past all the clutter: the multiple dressers, the extra couch you didn’t have the heart to throw out when you got married, the collection of clothes on the bedroom floor that you’ve been meaning to donate, then they can’t see the wall and floor space hiding behind them. Why would they want to pay for square footage they can’t visually utilize at a glance?
