Pregnancy Support Services of Wake Forest Walk for Life

On Saturday, April 26th the Pregnancy Support Services of Wake Forest will be raising money in their Walk for Life to benefit parents with unplanned pregnancies. I will be participating in the walk and will be looking for donations as well. They have asked us to raise at least $100 to put toward their cause. I hope to raise even more! If you are interested in helping and would like to donate please contact me. In the mean time you can visit their website for more information.

Thanks in advance for your generosity!

Best Places to Live for Business and Careers

Forbes has once again listed the Triangle Area high on a list. Raleigh is #1 on the list thanks to cost of living, culture, income growth, and colleges.

Durham is ranked #12 on the list.

It’s great to live in such a coveted area. People keep moving here and that only means that home prices will keep going up, up, up!

Raleigh Garbage Disposal Ban

Effective March 17th, 2008 the Raleigh City Council has placed a ban on the installation of new and the replacement of old garbage disposals. The ban was originally proposed back in 1999, but was put on hold until recently. While they hope it will prevent losing excess water down the drain (to help with the drought), the ban has really been instigated to prevent water pollution and sewer blockage. Apparently there have been 99 cases of sewer overflow since 2005.

It is said that violators may be fined $25,000 per day, but according to the Mayor, the odds aren’t very likely. Still, I would play along nicely.

Just to clarify, this is only for households who are hooked up to the city’s water system.
