The 2008 Parade of Homes is finally here. For the 43rd year, the Home Builders Association of Raleigh is inviting you into their homes to poke around. 2008 Property Tax Bills are out

If you visit the Wake County website you can access your 2008 tax bill. I’m sure that many of you have been anticipating this years bill because of this years reassessment.

In positive news, the tax rates for 2008 have been reduced for the first time since 2000 in most areas.

North Wake Landfill Closes

As of Thursday, May 29th the North Wake Landfill was closed for good. The area will be transformed into a community recreation area with sports fields, hiking trails, and more. It is unsure as to when the area will be open for these activities.

Now, Wake County residents will need to use the South Wake Landfill in Holly Springs. More to come on the progress of the landfill transformation!

March 2008 Real Estate Stats

I’ve got good news. According to Triangle MLS statistics houses in Wake County are selling pretty quickly this spring. Nearly a third of all homes sold in march were sold in less than 30 days!!!

In the month of March 1,244 homes sold.

393 = homes sold in 0-30 days
227 = homes sold in 31-60 days
141 = homes sold in 61-90 days
124 = homes sold in 91-120 days
325 = homes sold in 120+ days

Raleigh Water Restrictions - UPDATE

As of April 7, 2008, the Raleigh water restrictions have been reduced to Stage 1. What does that mean for those of us on the City of Raleigh water system? It means the following:

Irrigation systems can be used one day a week -
ODD addresses on Tuesday & EVEN addresses on Wednesday from Midnight to 10:00 am.

Hose End Sprinklers can be used one day a week -
ODD addresses on Tuesday & EVEN addresses on Wednesday from 6-10am and 6-10 pm.

Hand Held Hoses can be used twice per week -
ODD addresses on Tues/Sat & EVEN addresses on Wed/Sun from 6-10 am and 6-10 pm.

Personal Vehicle and Pressure washing -
Saturdays and Sundays (Commercial use all days).

Drip Irrigation -
There are no restrictions.
